Aline Devos

 

* PORTRAIT : Aline Devos was born and lives in Paris.

* COURSE : After artistic studies at the Boulle School in Paris, then specialization on the work of the stained glass, Aline Devos dashes into the creation of furniture and jewels. She goes then to her true passion : the stained glass, which allies to one of her previous experiences : the creation of jewels.

* CREATIONS : Objects, tables, jewels inspired by colours, brightness and transparency of the glass. A whole cheerful and colored line.

* TECHNIQUE : The technique which I use is that of the traditional stained glass materials : glasses of Saint-Just tinged in the mass. I use several varieties of glasses : massive glass new classic art, stretched massive glass, glass cathedrale, opalescent glass.

The glass is cutted has to leave paper calibres which I realize according to my drawing, with one cuts glass has knurl steel then inserted for joining into a lead profile. At the end of joining etain and lead in every intersection and on every face of the stained glass.

* PHILOSOPHY : Adapt the traditional method of the stained glass to contemporary creations, diverting it from the initial function.

* "ZU" INFOS : Aline devos in cheek of the transparency and the colours of the glass, destroys the sacred aura of the traditional technique of the stained glass creating objects, determinedly contemporary.

In three words : Passion, tradition and modernity; rather " Zu "!
